Osteoporosis Research Center was first established in 1999 as a research group of the Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Center of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. During the past decades, a plethora of research has been carried out on different aspects of osteoporosis by the osteoporosis research team of the EMRI. Considering such prominent achievements, the group was promoted to an affiliated Research Center as soon as the Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute was formed in April 2010.
